With its charming harbours and child friendly beaches, the Limfjord is an excellent base for waterbound activities such as windsurfing. The region s rolling hills and charming countryside also make it especially attractive for nature lovers. Other activities include a tour of an extensive system of chalk mines, which are now home to large colonies of bats. Alternatively, you can go in search of one of the region s many ghosts at Staarup Hovedgaard, the region s oldest manor house. A visit to the Stone Age Centre at Ertebølle is highly recommended, as is a trip to the Hjerl Hede living museum, which, with its historic houses and living workshops, provides a vivid glimpse into the development of the Danish village.
