The area around Assens is marked by a beautiful natural landscape, with fields, forests and offers beautiful views of the waves of the Little Belt. The Helnæs peninsula, located 15 km to the southwest, boasts of untouched nature, the finest beaches and clear water and offers a wonderful experience of nature. Sandager Næs, located 10 km to the north of Assens, is an ideal destination for anglers, hikers, cyclists and also those who want to enjoy the peaceful natural beauty. You can pack your picnic basket and take the ferry from Assens to the small Island of Baagø, which is an ideal destination for a day trip. You may also rent a trolley for 3 - 4 people. With a 90 km long coastline, West Funen is a paradise for water lovers, windsurfers and divers. Anglers and sailors will also find excellent conditions here. In Odense you can visit Hans Christian Andersen's house or the zoo and keep yourself busy the whole day. On the Island of Funen, there are several beautiful castles and manor houses, imposing gardens and parks and many cultural heritage monuments.
