North AmericaThe Edmund

Adventure, refinement, warmth.

A boutique hotel and managed-residence brand for North America, built around the mountain: you meet the fire before you meet the desk. Every room is a suite, and every suite has a view.

The hearth room at The Edmund — stone fireplace, oxblood leather and oak

Arrival

You meet the fire before you meet the desk. Charred larch, Rundle stone and brass set the tone before anyone has spoken.

The suites

Every room is a suite and every suite has a view. Belgian linen, white oak, stone and brass, with the slopes as the only wall.

Heat and cold

Cedar sauna, cold plunge, steam, hydropool and rest, run as a ninety-minute sequence. Repeat as needed.

Nine materials run through the whole house — charred larch, Rundle stone, oxblood, brass, white oak, Belgian linen, honed travertine, slate and blackened steel. The palette does the work that signage usually has to.

The public rooms are built to be used: one room where strangers end up talking, a kitchen that is the room and a dinner that is the show, and a spa run as a sequence — heat, cold, water, rest, then the mountain again.
