The Main Bedroom is downstairs. This is a spacious bedroom with a king size bed and white percale linen.
The en suite bathroom consists of a bath, shower, basin and toilet.
For your comfort, all linen, towels and amenities are provided for.
This room is individually air-conditioned.
The Africa Room is also downstairs, opposite the Main Bedroom. A love for nature and Africa served as inspiration for the theme of this room.
Complete with king size bed, mosquito net, white percale linen, towels and amenities, promising for unforgettable nights in the wild African bush veld.
The en suite bathroom has a large shower, toilet, basin and corner bath for those romantic evenings in the bush. Candles are provided...so what are you waiting for?
The Tree Top Room is upstairs, next to the Tv room.
When you look out the widow you are on tree top level. In the morning you see the most beautiful sunrise. If you are lucky you will also see the Bush Babies from time to time.
This room has two single beds, but can easily be converted to a king size bed. All linen and towels are of excellent quality and amenities are provided for.
The en suite bathroom has a shower, bath, basin and toilet.
The room is air conditioned for your comfort.
The 4th bedroom is for the more adventurous guests. We call it the Safari Room.
It is enclosed with mozzie nets only. So at night time you will hear the hyenas, hippos and lions clearly.
Here is an open en suite bathroom with a spa bath for one, shower, basin and loo with a view.
Both the 3rd and the 4th bedrooms are up stairs next to the Tv lounge.
The kitchen is on ground level and fully equipped to cook up a storm.
A toaster, microwave oven, gas oven, fridge/freezer, pots, pans, cutlery and crockery, etc. etc. are there to make self-catering a dream.
Daily cleaning of the kitchen and entertainment area is included in the rate quoted. Our friendly staff come in every morning between 09h00 and 11h00 to do the dishes etc.
A menu of the local restaurants is on the table. So if you don't feel like cooking (after all you are on holiday!) just give them a call and they'll be glad to deliver your favourite meal.
The swimming pool and outside entertainment area is definitely the best feature of Khaya Romantica. In summer in gets up to 40 degrees Celsius and there is no better place to relax with an ice cold cocktail. A small waterfall enhances the atmosphere with the sound of running water in the back ground.
A furnished veranda next to the swimming pool is available to hide from the harsh African sun.
The lapa, about 15m from the swimming pool, is the ideal place to spent endless nights around the fire. At night you can hear the lions and hippo's clearly.
Firewood and charcoal are provided. There is a Weber on the veranda.
Directions
Coming from Nelspruit, east on the N4, take the Marloth Park turn-off about 19km after Malelane. Follow the road to the Marloth Park gate, where our guest house staff can meet you.
About Marloth Park
Marloth Park borders the Kruger National Park south of the Crocodile River. Marloth Park is a wildlife conservancy area, with wild animals roaming free within the residential area (that's right, where you will be staying!).
But don't let this scare you off, the animals have been staying here for years, and are quite accustomed to seeing people in there habitat. Animals found in the park range from small buck and warthogs, to tall giraffes. Friendly rangers known as the Marloth Park Honorary Rangers are on call 24/7 to see to it that the locals get along.
Weather - When to Visit?
The weather in the Lowveld is relatively warm year round, especially during the (not particularly) rainy season - the summer months - November to March. During this time, the bush becomes a lush green, and it is common to see animals with their newly born young. This time of plenty is quite spectacular and should not be missed.
During the winter months - roughly May to August - the bush becomes relatively dry. The lack of thick foliage makes animal sightings much easier. Because water sources are fewer and more concentrated at this time of the year, animal movement patterns also become more predictable. Sitting at a waterhole in Lionspruit, or at the Kruger border near the Crocodile River, one can be sure to see a whole range of animals. Winter is the time to visit Kruger Park for big five sightings.
