Newly built in 2013 eco friendly Hotel Dunes Unawatuna is situated 5 minutes walk from the picturesque Unawatuna beach. It has green surroundings & plenty of wild life activity. You can find many kinds of beautiful Sri Lankan birds near the natural pond in the garden, and see monkeys eating king coconuts in the mornings & afternoons and sometimes you can even be lucky to see the mongoose running through the garden. Entrance to Dunes is located in the main tourist street of Unawatuna with cafes & restaurants, but the hotel rooms are away from the noise of the busy street, facing the garden & pond.
Architecturally designed Hotel Dunes Unawatuna was built using recycled timber & minimal concrete. Hotel also has asbestos free roof & has used Sri Lankan clay tiles to keep the rooms cooler from the hot sun.
