This log cabin features 3 bedroom, 2 full baths and 2 living rooms. Large lake, smaller pond, stream, and stone foundation barn, with over 9 acres to explore. The stone sunroom features a wood stove, bar, ceiling fan and large windows. The stone floor and logs make you feel as if you are in a cozy mountain lodge. There is a trundle bed in stone room that can be 2 separate beds or pull up for a king size bed (no A/C is available in this area). You then enter the kitchen with all new appliances new full size propane self-cleaning stove, microwave refrigerator and plenty of cabinet space and counter tops. This is an eat in kitchen (leaf pulls out of table for more seating) large window to see the beautiful mountain views including a 125 year old stone foundation barn.
Entering the step down living room that features a rounded European designed fireplace with an opening to an outside firebox for easy fire building. Large sofa that pulls out to a full bed. Large windows, ceiling fans and dimmer switches on the end table lights for romantic evenings. With a large TV, DVD, and VHS player, Dish Network and stereo for your enjoyment. 2 chairs in front of the fireplace to enjoy the quiet fall and winter evenings.
Stone step area leads to the master bedroom with queen size bed and a twin bed (dorm style)to use as a day bed for those afternoons of reading. Large glass table with 4 chairs to enjoy evening diner with sunset views. French doors that leads to a deck and acres of lush grass areas for outdoor fun or watching the bird in the feeders and birdhouses. The master bath features large Jacuzzi soaking tub vanity and separate toilet area. There are 4 closets for plenty of storage (games in closet). 2nd bath features a 2-person shower with benches, vanity and window. Step down into the 2nd bedroom with full bed, table, dresser, ceiling fan, and sliding glass door that leads to private sitting area looking out to the lake with chimminia (small outdoor fireplace) for a warm fire, located next to the original chicken coop with tin roof (over 125 years old) that one day will be made into a wonderful spa room/ game room. The grounds consist of over 9 acres with hammock (my personal favorite spot- its 5 o'clock somewhere) and benches to just relax. A large fire pit off the master bedroom for those evenings of stargazing and roasting marshmallows. Grill and large table, and 4 Adirondack chairs surrounding the fire pit. The grounds consist of evergreen, cherry, white peach, apple and pear trees as well as dogwood and cedar. Deer can be seen on the ground as well as turkey, geese, hawks, and every bird that is in our beloved valley. All the comforts of home but a rustic mountain hideaway is what is waiting here for you.
Take a long walk around the lake that features a wooden bridge over waterfall between the lake and pond, nestled amongst the willow trees. Stream runs along backside of lake and can be viewed as you take your walk.
This property is located in Fort Valley, Va. near the town of Front Royal, Va. You can expect a 35 mile drive to the town of Luray or 15 miles to Front Royal, Va.
Close to the Shenandoah River, Shenandoah National Park (Skyline Drive begins in Front Royal), Shenandoah Caverns, and much more.
