Raigad fort is a hill fortress, which rises 820 metres (2,700ft) above sea level is located in the sahyadri mountain.There are approximately 1400-1450 steps leading to the fort, though today a rope-way exists to reach the top.But Mumubai,Pune and Satara are equidistant from Raigad,located on North laltitude 18-14 minutes and east longitude 73-26 minutes. Height from sea level is 2,700 feet,deep gorges separate it from the mountain range of sahyadi,by a valley approximately 1.5 km wide.The distance between ‘Nagarkhana and the Royal Throne is more than 200 feet.

Nijampur-Fort Mangad-Raigad Trek: Nijampur is on the Northwest at a distanceof 16km from Raigad.
Birwadi-Raigad Trek: It is 24 km From Raigad. The trek is along river Kal.
Mahad Trek: The trek is of 21 km along the river Gandhari up to Konzar Then via Pachad to Raigar.
There are a number of other interesting places in the area viz Pratapgad, Mahabaleshwar,Panchgani,Bhatghar lake, Sinhgad, famous sea fort of Janjira, Janjira-Murud beachetc.
