Lanuza Bay offers some of the best and least crowded surfing in the Philippines. Located in Surigao del Sur, Mindanao, it takes a little more traveling to reach, but the trip is worth it. Its a very quiet and relaxed part of the Philippines. (Dont let the troubles in southwestern Mindanao deter you. Those are a long, long way away and never, ever reach to this part of the country.) The people in the area are very friendly and extremely welcoming to the traveling surfer.
Poktoy Palm Haven is a family run affair, managed by son Jade Orozco and overseen by his lovely grandmother. Jade, an excellent surfer himself, is happy to give advice on surf conditions at the different breaks. He can also help you with everything. When you are a guest at Poktoy, you are treated more like you are a member of the extended family than merely a customer. It feels like a community, not a business.
Stringent: No charges will be levied if booking is canceled 61 days prior to check-in. If cancellation is done between 30 to 60 days prior to check-in, 50% of the total booking amount will be charged. Post that, there will be no refund.
