Modernized for convenience and prepared to give you a comfortable stay with the essence of the land. The cottages are located within the resort and are surrounded by lavender bushes, flowers, and vineyards. With the beautiful private outdoor pool and the big garden, be ready to take a dip into the roots of the earth.
The Space:
Sleeping in one of our country houses is a very special experience. The huge panoramic sliding windows dominate the space and make us be fascinated by the landscape. Everything is here for a perfect and independent stay. It's the perfect place for a family or a group of friends.

For your breakfast, a delightful deck with a breathtaking view over a mysterious valley and for late-day drinks you will experience an unforgettable sunset over the sea and the Lagoon. An invitation to love. A place to meet and live slowly, without any hurry.

Our property is 28 hectares, completely in harmony with nature, preserved with local fauna and flora with the landscape of olive and cork oaks, scrubs and rosemary, the smells mix with the song of birds and the sound of crickets. Here, you will find delightful hiking and biking trails in the middle of the mountains or by the sea, incredible cliffs for paragliding, extensive deserted beaches and the lakes of Santo André and Melides reserves, icons of preservation in the region.

Reserva Alecrim is really central on the Alentejo coast, offering the best way to visit the region in short day trips. We prepared a selection of activities just for you to enjoy fully your stay. ATTENTION: We are a rural property where the greatest pleasure we can give our guests is to feel disconnected from the world. We do not emphasize televisions or the internet... The wifi works well only in the common areas like swimming pool, sunset lounge and reception.

Pre Check In - Before your arrival, we will send all the necessary information so that you can enjoy the maximum of your stay: our location and how to get here(google “Amazing Glamping”); all the experiences available so you can explore our region; the gate access code and the Wifi password. Please call or text us 1 hour before your arrival so that we can be expected and plan your arrive. (Tel : + 351 911 111 137 )

Gate is close during the night and sometimes during the day, to open it up you should dial the access code 9999 “left arrow” in the post display that you will find on the drivers side.

Breakfast -Our breakfast is not include and has a cost of 8.50€ per person. Upon your check-in you should request your breakfast basket and inform if want to be delivery everyday or upon your request during your stay. Please ask for your breakfast basket till 17h30 of the previous day. Falls you have any special request ( early breakfast or food allergies ) please inform the reception. The breakfast basket are delivery between 09h-09h30.

Children - Should always be accompanied by an adult when using the common areas : swimming pool, bio-Lake, etc. Reserva Alecrim is not responsible for any accident or damage caused within the property that is caused by third parties.

Bio Lake – Try our bio lake in the property and enjoy our beautiful views over the sea fill with an amazing sunset. Please respect the ecosystem that creates this water point where is not allowed to dive or swimming . Reserva Alecrim is not responsible for any accident or damage by third parties.

Infinity Pool - Enjoy our infinity pool and refresh yourself from all the Alentejo heat.Respect the safety rules of the pool and its users. Diving or swimming is not allowed. Children must always be accompanied by an adult. The Reserva Alecrim is not responsible for any accident or damage caused by third parties.

Pool Bar - Taste our delicious snacks served daily at the poolbar made with daily products and imagination, our wraps or salads are ideal to satisfy the hunger between the long swings or hanging out at the sunbeds. And by sunset it will be hard to say no to a glass of white wine or a Sangria that invite us to stay a little bit longer after the sun down.

Parking - All parking spaces are marked with the respective unit names.Please park in the place assigned to your unit and please avoid parking outside the marked places. Hence we are inside residential area do not exceed 30km/hour.

Garbage - Please respect our nature surroundings by not littering our common areas. In each Dome you will find trash bins and on our Suites are also equipped with a small recycle bins( glass,paper and plastic).

Smoking - Our property is situated in a very sensitive ecosystem and for this reason it is forbidden to smoke in Reserva Alecrim inside or outside the units. If you still want to smoke please do it outside Reserva.

Tv- Just turn it on and will have access to the Portuguese open source channel

Restaurant Monte da Vinhas - Within a 5 minute drive from Reserva Alecrim, this restaurant offers good quality, homemade food at a fair price. The service is slow like everything in Alentejo, so don’t go in a hurry to eat and get to know the locals. Eels and angola chicken(a chicken variety) are house specialties, for those who like it a tomato soup is also a good choice or octopus salad.With your “bica” (expresso) ask for an “alcomonia”( a regional sweet made with flour and pine nut ) that are homemade at the restaurant by the home cook, although they can have a peculiar taste they are delicious and is a match in heaven with it.

Restaurant Tia Lena - One of the most well known restaurants in the area with typical alentejo cuisine, here you will taste good food like “Migas”(a traditional side dish made with bread mixed with local ingredients such as tomato, parsley or others) or “Cação” Soup and enjoy a nice service that can be long during summer ( locals love this restaurant!) but while you wait for a table enjoy a Gin since they are also a Gin Bar ( unique in the area), where you will find a variety of gins include the Alentejo Gin “Black Pig”. Like we say it here, be cool because we are at Alentejo, times here goes slowly, so lay back and enjoy the pace, soon you will be eating delicious food.

Restaurant Quinta do Giz- Our region is known for the good food and this restaurant serves regional dishes that are made with local ingredients and care. Their specialty is “Pot food” and will be hard to choose between the Seafood “Cataplana” or the “Lingueirão” rice. Restaurant O Grelhador - Like the name says here most of the food is prepare on a charcoal grill and you can taste the smoky flavour of the meat or fish that is their specialty. The regional tavern with a wood decoration interior is a must go for the ones that love to eat grilled meat or fresh fish braised and enjoy some good laughs drizzled with their house wine. Here the service is very friendly and the waiter will make you feel at home and will be hard to leave this place, especially with a belly full of tasty and homemade food, choose the “Migas à Alentejana” or “Pork and Beans brazilian way” to have a picture of the happy marriage between Alentejo cuisine and brazilian food. Although they are a traditional restaurant that serves delicious portuguese food here you can also eat the traditional grilled meat of Brazil “Picanha” side dish with grilled fruit and everything that you deserve. Restaurant Chez Daniel - This restaurant is a piece of history of the Santo André Lagoon, the first location was right on the dunes of the beach and their main customers were the local fisherman's that dock their boats on the lagoon bank, in a time when the art of netz fishing was the main source of income for the people that lived there.The small shack was always full with fresh fish, eels and stories about the sea and their sailors, today you can meet the grandson (that will be your waiter) and the son of the founder, the home cook, that still keeps the traditional delicatesse like Fried Eels or Swordfish in a new and modern space just at the Costa de Santo André ( the official name of this forgotten fishermans paradise) village limits. This new venue incorporates good taste in decoration, privileged with natural light in a wide and open space, where you can find a good selection of Alentejo wines. Although they are just outside the village limits and near the road, you won’t regret the trip since they still have a beautiful view to the lagoon and the natural reserve and most important they keeped the old receipts (the daily dishes rely on sea moods) that was and still is the delight of the locals and everyone that stops for a visit during the weekends. Go for a day trip at the lagoon or the beach, enjoy the beautiful pink sunset and finish it with a meal full of flavours and history.

Restaurant O Gatinho - Here pretentious is not even a known word of the vocabulary, this restaurant is more like a entity of the small town where is located along side with most of the “tascas” that are among the favorite places to eat around here. Drizzle with good mood, good house wine and welcoming service, don’t expect a “posh” waiter or space, but fresh ingredients and regional meals where the conversation can go for hours without you even notice time passing by. Ask for a table outside and share a laugh or two with your table neighbor and maybe even try a homemade “Medronho”( strong schnapps made with arbutus, an autochthonous plant) at back door before leaving. Grilled meat or fish are always available to share like the famous black pork meat -“plumas,secretos or lagartos”- , maybe a tasteful Codfish Stew or their daily dishes that will leave you with a heart full and a comfort belly for the rest of the day. Bom Rémedio Café- Where dessert is the main dish and smoothies or fruit lemonades are the drink of the day. If you enjoy delicious pastry and bakery then you have to go and try one or two of this homemade cake and cookies, grab a slice and go enjoy it at the castle overviewing the beautiful bay of Sines, if you see Vasco da Gama (Famous Portuguese Sailor and a celebrity) share with him some photos but not the crumbs. Restaurant Ilha do Arroz - We are privileged to live here in the blue coast of Portugal and be surrounded by amazing restaurants that is always hard to choose or visit all of them, but don’t miss the chance to go for a road trip with the family or friends till Praia da Comporta and have lunch or dinner at this great beach restaurant (Can you imagine they open in 2002, before Comporta became the “must go” spot?) . Their terrace is on the dunes and have the best view over the blue crystal clear waters and Serra da Arrabida, so if you want to get the best sight don’t forget to book a table before your day trip. Restaurant Destilaria do Ferrador - An homage to her grandfather, this granddaughter (and owner) wanted to keep the memories and the old fabric where her grandfather used to work as a Farrier( Ferrador in Portuguese) transforming this old workshop in a regional restaurant and distillery here you will find a piece of family history as well from the village of São Luís. Located between the Mountain range of Cercal and the beaches of Vila Nova de Milfontes, is decorated with old instruments used in the old times and an alamabic where the famous alentejo “Medronho” is produce and taste. Enjoy yourself while listen to a different Fado sung and play by the owner boyfriend and sometimes even by her mother (when the service in the kitchen allows). Trail Bread & Hills - At the Portuguese table bread can not be lacking, and at the Alentejo table bread is king.Marco of Portuguese gastronomy and base of many typical dishes of the Alentejo province, Alentejo bread typically uses "old pasta" as yeast giving the characteristic acidic flavor and because no steam is used during the cooking, the crust has no brightness and it gains a crunchy and thick crust due to the long cooking at low temperatures. Marisa is a member of the 3.Generation of a typical Alentejo family that grew up in these lands, where the Alecrim Reserve is located, and keeping the family legacy alive by baking homemade bread every Tuesday and Friday in the centennial oven that is part of a tradition in almost every house in Alentejo had a family or community oven for baking bread, cakes and traditional dishes. Come discover this traditional art of making bread and go inside an artisan bakery with Marisa, the baker and also daughter of D. Maria who be happy to show us the daily life of Alentejo and his beauty . This route starts at the Alecrim Reserve with a circular circuit riding through the hills and outside roads getting “lost” through the cook tree and the colours of the wild flowers. Explore with our local host or rent a bike and go for a ride (you can also uncover the trial self guided following the trail at Wikiloc) through littles valleys and overview of Reserva Alecrim uncovering stunning sights of pure nature. During the circuit will identify the autochthonous plants that transform the mountain range into a beautiful frame of colors and flowers.

Trail Olive Groves - It was in 1906, on the property of "Parral Velho", located in the smallest parish of the Municipality of Santiago do Cacém, that Manuel João António Nunes fulfilled his dream of building an Olive Oil. At that time the olive was crushed by an animal-driven device and then placed in logs. These sheets were then stacked and squeezed in a press moved by human force, which resulted in the extraction of the olive oil. After more than a hundred years, Lagar do Parral continues to prove its ability to combine family tradition with technological advances always with the aim of producing a quality olive oil. We now have a modern extraction unit, where the processes are exclusively mechanical, and where we use technological solutions according to the highest quality criteria of the final product. Produced about 109 years ago, Parral Olive Oil combines quality of production with technological means suitable for the production of excellence.

Route Information: We recommend that you use comfortable clothes and shoes since the trail has somes parts that we cross some bramble or have to take the bike( in the you decide to by hand. Take the day to riding or walk through olive tree that never ends and try the best Gin around, Black Pig. At the end of the trail you can enjoy a nice Gin Tonic or a Mojito under the “Azinheira” after visiting the Distillery that got everyone drink Gin. Don’t drink too much, you still have to go back to your Amazing Glamping.

Tour Gin Alentejo-Located near Vila Nova de Santo André, in the Municipality of Santiago do Cacém, the Black Pig Alentejo Distillery produces gin, rum and medronho brandy. Besides investing in production of booze, this farm also dedicates to breed the famous Black Pig, a fundamental element for the ecosystem of Montado Alentejano.
