Double Deluxe Room

This is a detached property that has been completely rebuilt (Completed September 2004) to the highest design specifications. Being a detached building it has excellent light and ventilation whilst its elevated position means most rooms have views of the Kanchenjunga.

The property is tailored, in every aspect, to discerning independent travelers with a taste for fine living but no desire for the regimentation and faceless professionalism of large hotels in Darjeeling.

The emphasis is on providing that little extra, so that every guest receives attention to his/her particular needs. The attention to detail pervades every aspect of the property, from the courteous but unobtrusive staff to the quality of the furnishings and fixtures and the authenticity of the cuisine, giving an aura of luxury in a hotel that is small enough to be intimate and homely. In order to provide our guests with personalized service there is one waiter for every 2/3 rooms.

The well-lit double deluxe rooms are of a standard size hotel room that are ideal for two guests. The handcrafted yet contemporary wooden furniture is finished with a teak veneer. Each tastefully designed bedroom features either a king-size or twin beds-you can choose. All the rooms have a seating area and most have wooden floors and private balconies. Altogether a great place to unwind and enjoy the stunning views.

Our 12 guest rooms and suites personify contemporary living. Soft tones and innovative lighting create a relaxed environment, whilst luxury cotton sheets and hand made quilts adorn the beds. There is a seating area in all our rooms providing private space to reflect upon the days activities or ponder adventures to be pursued. The 12 individually designed rooms take full advantage of the hotels ideal location. With floor to ceiling windows, guests are offered the best views of any hotel in Darjeeling, the spectacular Kanchenjunga mountain range and the tea gardens below.

Every room has remote control television with Cable TV (37 channels including BBC, Star TV, Zee, ESPN etc). The double deluxe rooms have private balconies that create a feeling of both privacy and freedom in a modern, chic setting. All the rooms have full height mirrored wardrobes and ample drawer space so that you can unpack and feel right at home from the start of your visit. For your convenience there is an in-house telephone, tea coffee tray and a safe in every room.

The property has 2 deluxe suites. Each suite has a bedroom and a small separate sitting room with a private balcony. Perfectly suitable for couples as well as a family as it can accommodate 1 or two extra persons comfortably.

Our Deluxe Attic rooms are also of a standard size and ideal for 2 persons. Being on the fourth floor of the building, the deluxe attic rooms have the most commanding views of The Kanchenjunga mountain range above and tea gardens below. Beautiful sheesham and saal wood from local sustainable forests have been used to panel the room and for the handcrafted furniture.

The rooms have either generous king-sized beds or twin beds. We use the highest quality mattresses and large, soft pillows to ensure you will have a great night's sleep. The seating area provides private space to reflect upon the days activities or ponder adventures to be pursued. These rooms are non-smoking and are fitted with smoke alarms.

All of the rooms have attached bathrooms with geysers and hot and cold running water. These have been carefully planned out and finished to a very high standard using modern fixtures and fittings. Each bathroom is equipped with fully tiled shower area, hand basin and w.c. (Western style).

Many of our guests ask about access issues such as the number of stairs to climb or indeed if there is a lift. The hotel has five floors altogether, and whilst (as with all other hotels in Darjeeling) there isn't a lift, the design of the building reduces the effort needed to climb the stairs! The stairways are bright and airy with short flights regularly interspersed with landings. Guests who might find the climb up to the attic rooms a bit of a challenge could stay in the first floor rooms which are just a few steps up from the reception. Our staff are always on hand to provide assistance; please ask at the reception.

The property has an entire floor devoted to a rooftop lounge and bar. It's the perfect place to meet-up and be mesmerised by the panoramic views.

Panoramic views of the majestic Kanchenjunga range, relaxed seating around an attractive central fireplace and a well-stocked bar allow guests to unwind at leisure. Your personal conservatory in the mountains. The soothing decor and laid back ambience create a space that is welcoming yet intimate, unlike that in any large hotel in Darjeeling. There is a library of books on the region and a variety of indoor games. The Rooftop Lounge is the guests personal conservatory in the mountains.

Breakfast is included in the hotel tariff and is served in the Rooftop Lounge. It will set you up perfectly for a day exploring Darjeeling. The Indian breakfast is a choice of stuffed parathas, or aloo puris with aloo dum and mixed vegetables, pickles and curd, tea or coffee. Alternatively you can have two eggs cooked to your preference, sausages with hash browns, fried tomatoes, toast, butter and jam, tea or coffee. If you prefer breakfast in your room we will most happily oblige at no extra charge.
