Fifty kilometres from Nainital and Saat-tal, perched on Mukteshwar ridge, the Camp is surrounded by apple and peach orchards and offers fantastic views of distant snow covered mountain ranges. Mukteshwar (2272m) is one of the highest ridges in the middle Himalayas; hence it serves as a great vantage point for panoramic views of the snow covered mountains
(including Nanda Devi - one of the highest Indian peaks)
Mukteshwar literally means 'Abode of Shiva' and has a Shiva temple at the highest hill on the ridge. In the temple complex is an ashram run by an old babaji, who has large following from different parts of the world.
