There are plenty of great bars, restaurants and some great little boutiques at your feet. The river Loire is only 100 yards away which is great for walks and biking. You can visit the many Loire Chateau's, including the Chateau of Saumur which is only a short walk away. There is a choice of many great golf courses which are only a short distance away - Saumur Golf club is only a 5-minute drive away. France's Cavalry has been based in Saumur since 1700, and if you are a horse enthusiast then the Cadre Noir is definitely a place to visit.
