Our Villa is a three minute stroll from the glistening waters and palm fringed beach of Unawatauna. It is a unique villa complex composed of individual pavilions and the historic Bungalow. With its tranquil gardens, ponds and swimming pool offers an ideal oasis to enjoy the richness of the south west coast of Sri Lanka and surrounding countryside.
A key feature is its large open sided 'ambalama' (rest pavilion) which is a perfect place for relaxing, dining, reading, enjoying a cool drink or pot of tea. The ambalama has impressive deeply carved timber beams, a high ceiling and is ringed on three sides by the swimming pool and tropical gardens.
Our gourmet kitchen has been designed to allow us to conduct cooking classes in Sri Lankan cuisine. If you fancy learning how the delicious curries and other Sri Lankan dishes you have sampled are created, we can arrange an experienced chef to pass on their valuable insights.
Each of our rooms and suites have wide verandahs designed for both shade and privacy. They offer good glimpses to the sea or gardens and capture the gentle tropical breezes allowing guests to escape the heat of the day.
The rooms and suites are furnished in colonial style with original art, antiques, four poster beds, highly polished floors with inlaid timber and ambient lighting. The bathrooms are generous and well appointed with differing vanity, bath and shower arrangements, all thoughtfully designed and individually expressed. You may find: a delicate translucent alabaster hand basin; a hand beaten brass wash basin or; a hand formed, polished bath for two in your bathroom.
All rooms have their own large, private verandahs (with overhead fans) allowing views of the sea, gardens, water lily pond, meadow or tropical palm tree filled landscape. There are many different perspectives and landscapes vistas available from Sergeant House and we have tried to showcase them with the design and orientation of our rooms and suites.

Stringent: No charges will be levied if booking is canceled 61 days prior to check-in. If cancellation is done between 30 to 60 days prior to check-in, 50% of the total booking amount will be charged. Post that, there will be no refund.
