It used to be an administration building from the first half of the 18th century. It is named for the author Svatopluk Čech, who grew up here, while his father was in office here. Later, Jarmila Novotná lived here with her husband Jiří Daubek and their children. She was a legendary opera star, actress and significant patriot.The building’s High Barogue style has been carefully maintained and enhanced with additions of Late Baroque elements in the style of Louis XVI. In the previous decade, the house was successfully renovated, and the interior was modernised to meet the demands of the owners, turning it into a true gem on the grounds of the castle’s park with a private bathing beach. Other features are table tennis, volleyball court, football goals, darts, badminton, an archery range, a small climbing wall, trampolines, and much more. At the same time, the park made its own modern history, when the American actor John Malkovich planted the first memorial tree in 2013, later followed by the conductor Jiří Bělohlávek as the next famous patron of a tree.The castle estate is located in the landscape reserve Český kras, half an hour from Prague airport, close to castle Karlstein, the cave of Koněprusk and Křivoklát. The house features eight bedrooms, each with bathroom and toiled. Furthermore, there are a common room, a multi-purpose hall, a heated outdoor pool and several wood burning stoves. Not far from here, one of the best golf courts of the Czech Republic awaits. The groundskeeper lives in a different part of the estate, and he stands ready at any given time to assist the guests. Per request, there is also the option of a chef de cuisine, a driver with limousine, or a personal butler.
