The town of Buje is located 10 km from the Adriatic Sea, in the northern part of Istria. It is visible from a distance, being located on a hill. The place also offers a beautiful view. The area is thick with olive groves and vineyards. You will have an opportunity to pick your own wild asparagus in spring. The traditional Istrian dish 'fritaja' (omelette) is prepared with the native asparagus and eggs. Agri-tourism is recommended for those who do not prefer international cuisine. Fully traditional meals are served by establishments using local produce. Even a few years ago, only a few die-hard adventurers chose to spend their holiday in the green hills of the hinterland instead of a regular seaside holiday. But this is changing rapidly.
