Talking about food and activities, the Mekong Delta is known as "the Rice Bowl" of Vietnam. Representing less than 10% of the countries land mass the delta produces over 30% of the countries food. Protein production of fish, seafood and amphibian crops can be found throughout this fertile region. The local markets and restaurants offer a huge variety of fresh proteins, produce and fruits making every meal a delicacy!
While visiting Nhon Thanh Homestay you can learn how to catch shrimp and fish using traditional methods. You can also follow the cooks on a foraging expedition into the jungle around the house and return with all the ingredients for the wonderful meals prepared by the grandmother chef! After collecting the ingredients for dinner enjoy a cool comforting shower and an ice cold beer while your dinner is prepared.
If you are really nice to grandpa you might find yourself doing a few shots of his amazing homemade rice wine and laughing the night away!
