At Casa Mildred y Gonzalito you’ll be at just a stone's throw away from the Malecon. So close that you could almost hear the sound of the waves and sense the smell of the sea. This couple, with its daughter and son, are happy to share an independent room with three single beds and attend theirs guests with respect and affability.
The Space:
Our home, located on a 2ndfloor, date from the first half of the 20th century. With his balcony over the street, where you can contemplate the daily life of Cubans, gives a warm welcome to our guests. After greeting your hosts, you can accommodate you in the air-conditioned bedroom (5x4) and rest in its single beds, in a complete tranquility. The bathroom, right next to the room, is to be shared with other potential guests. Nevertheless, Mildred keeps it clean 24/7.
Therefore, our house makes an appealing offer for solo travelers, groups of friends, families, students and couples.
Guest Access:
All basic services are included: bed sheets, towels, toilet paper and soap. We also give our guests information needed for their trip and help them to book houses in other provinces. In addition we also offer services such as breakfast, dinner, airport pickups and drop offs, and city tours with expert guides.
Our guests have access to all common spaces of the house, such as the balcony, dining room, living room and kitchen. This last one only with Mildred's permission.
Interaction with Guests:
Once at home, Mildred, trained nurse turned housewife, and Gonzalito, a driver for shared taxis, along their Med student daughter and primary school son, will be your hosts. You will find that Mildred, as former nurse, gives an important value to the house cleanliness. On the other hand, Gonzalito, who owns an old American car, can drive you around for a fair price. In addition, we will advise you about what to do and see, how to get around, and which are the best places to eat, drink and dance.
The Neighborhood:
Right in San Lazarost, one of the oldest arteries connecting Old Havana with Vedado, our house is located in a privileged position. The neighborhood is very lively, yet quiet and safe. Less than 100 m away from the Malecon, our guests can easily walk along the maritime avenue or seat to see the sunsets. Likewise, after a 10 minutes’ walk, the travelers come out onto Old Havana, where locate all the main historical sights and places to dance, e.g. Casa de la Música Habana and Lincoln Hotel Cabaret. Numerous bars and restaurants such as La Abadía and La Gitana surround us as well.
Getting Around:
To get to our home from the airport you can get a taxi or request an airport pick up from us. From our place, you will not be using any taxis as almost all locations of interest are within walking distance. To go to cities such as Viñales or Trinidad we can help with private or shared taxis, based on your preferences.
Other Things to Note:
Mildred and Gonzalito own an old ’53 Pontiac to moving you around the city, drive to Varadero and Viñales, or pick you up and drop you off at the airport. This services works prearranged for an extra but fair cost.

Stringent: No charges will be levied if booking is canceled 61 days prior to check-in. If cancellation is done between 30 to 60 days prior to check-in, 50% of the total booking amount will be charged. Post that, there will be no refund.
