NALAKNAD PALACE - 14 Km
A modest palace in Nalaknad in the southern part of Kodagu, built in the year 1792, by the king Doddha Veera Rajendra, this palace is situated at the base of the highest peak of kodagu, which is Thadiyanda Mol 1748 Metres from sea level. Palace consists of 19 rooms. In the year 1834 ‘Chikka Veera Raja’ was captured by the Britishers in this palace. Presently the palace is taken care by The Directorate of Archaeology and Museums of Karnataka State.
TALACAUVERY - 24 Km
This is the birthplace of river Cauvery on the slopes of Brahmagiri Hill. Bagamandala is in the foothills of Talacauvery and is the confluence of the sacred rivers of Cauvery, Kannike and Sujyothi.
CHELAVARA FALLS - 12 Km
Chelavara falls is among the best water falls in Coorg. Located near Cheyyandane, Chelavara falls is also called as ‘Embepare’ by the locals meaning Tortoise Rock.
PADI IGGUTHAPPA TEMPLE - 12 Km
Dedicated to Lord IGGUTHAPPA -another name for lord Subramanya. Built in the year 1810 by the King Lingarajendra; IGGUTHAPPA is also the rain god and the main deity of the Kodavas. Tulabhara, weighing oneself against fruits, sugar, coconut, rice etc is an important offering here. This temple governs significant role in the cultural and traditional life of the place.
