From knowledge about local history to arts and crafts and artistic in the heart of the historic center of Gumpoldskirchen - on Schrannenplatz - the Bergerhaus has for years earned an excellent reputation as an attractive meeting place for artists and visitors interested in art. In the former living quarters of the Bergerhaus, the basic structure of which dates back to the 16th century, interesting exhibitions are shown from March to October. The Bergerhaus also houses the Wine Museum of the market town of Gumpoldskirchen. The palette of cultural offerings offers visitors a colorful program that includes local history, arts and crafts and, above all, artistic focal points.
The Wine Museum, housed in one of the oldest wine cellars, contains, in addition to various cellar and wine-making equipment, as a special attraction a completely preserved wooden tree press from the 16th century, as well as what is probably Austria's only complete vinotheque, from 1945 to the present day, of the autochthonous varieties of Zierfandler and Rotgipfler known for Gumpoldskirchen.
The town hall, completed in 1559, is still the center of public life. Its mighty tower, which should be understood as a deliberate counterpart to the church tower, and its imposing rows of arcades on the east and south sides, characterized by the spirit of the Renaissance, make it the second landmark of our market. Its image can be found on countless wine labels. As a result, it is known practically all over the world.
At the southeast corner of the town hall stands a five-meter-high pillory, one of the most impressive monuments of legal history in Lower Austria. It was erected in 1563 (date chiseled in) as a successor to a much simpler pillory.

The mighty trough of the market fountain, which dates back to the Middle Ages and today stands opposite the junction of Badener Straße, once stood in the middle of Schrannenplatz on the edge of the then still open-flowing Marktbach.
Together with the parish church, the castle forms the sacral landmark of Gumpoldskirchen, visible from afar. The complex rises on the site of a Babenberg castle church complex, whose church dates back to the 11th or 12th century. Until its reconstruction in 1931, the castle was a defiant quadrangle with corner towers and a rectangular courtyard. The core of the building dates back to the 14th or 15th century. Behind the castle there are still defensive walls with a semicircular tower.
