Helberskov is a recreation region with rich forests and is surrounded by naturally wonderful and gentle waves of Kattegat. The nice Als Odde is located slightly south of the harbour, where you can also find the old restaurant called Kro. Nearest village from this home is Baltic Hurup (7 km away), which is a nice fishing and holiday village with harbour, restaurants, tennis courts, mini-golf and a beautiful swimming area. You can buy fresh fish directly from the boats. Recreational fishermen can find nice fishing spots, especially on the tip of Mariager Fjord. You can also fish in the Put and Take Lake located in the neighbourhood. The picturesque monastery and commercial town, Mariager, has ancient, well-tended Tudor-style homes situated on cobblestone-paved streets. Do not forget to visit Denmark Salt Centre, with its fascinating history of salt production. Enjoy a healing swim in salt water and this experience is similar to a swim in the Dead Sea. Do not forget to take your swim suits. To enjoy nature on the lakeside, take a trip of the old paddle steamer called Svanen on the beautiful Mariager Fjord from Als Odde to Hadsund. Also experience one of the strangest and pristine natural regions of Denmark, called Lille Vildmose. This moorland landscape is a national park with diverse variety of plants and animal life. You can observe large school of game fish and wild boars and Denmark's two of the species of King Eagles breed in this region. Some of the sensitive areas in the reserve are fenced and are accessible only through guided tours or you can wait for your turn to visit.
