The place is ideal for pleasant and leisurely strolls. Saltbæk Vig is a 16-square kilometre big lake with brackish water, a result of a failed dam experiment done in 1866. The containment dams were to connect the Store and Lille Vrøj islands, and Alleshave Peninsula to Røsnæs, and isolate the Sejerø Bay. Instead, an attractive natural area was created. Access to Saltbæk Vig is not permitted, but you can avail the guided tours. Also, golf courses are located a few kilometres away from Kalundborg. Kalundborg is good for shopping. It also has cosy cafes, restaurants and narrow, medieval streets lined with half-timbered houses. The pedestrian streets and the ancient district are ideal for family holidays. Explore the 9 km long coastal road leading to a unique natural area on the Reersø Peninsula: to the east (Zealand) there are three beautiful wet areas, Flasken, Skiften and Vejlen with waders, ducks and interesting flora. To the west there are cliffs and good fishing grounds. Copenhagen is located a little more than 100 km away. Legoland is situated at a distance of 210 km.
