The charming town of Havnsø is the departure point for ferries to both Nekselø and Sejerø, and its active harbour is also frequented by both pleasure boats and fishing vessels. Close to this holiday home you will find an attractive beach well suited to adults and kids alike, where you can enjoy attractive sunsets over the island Nekselø. This property is also just a short distance from a number of golf courses. The local landscape was been created by the movement of glaciers and is therefore extremely undulating and varied. Two bird sanctuaries are located in the region as well as Vesterlyng Kysthede, a stretch of open land famous for its rare flora. The area also offers a number of good fishing opportunities , including coastal fishing, sea fishing (on a boat from Havnsø), freshwater trout fishing and 'put and take' fishing. Zealand is also famous for its castles and manor houses, not least Dragsholm Castle, where the Fourth Earl of Bothwell - husband of Mary Queen of Scots - spent the last years of his life in the dungeons. Many historic Middle Age churches, often richly decorated with chalk paintings, adorn this region, which is also home to the famous five-towered Church of Our Lady at Kalundborg. For those who are interested in culture, numerous museums and galleries can be found across the area, as well as family attractions like Sommerland Sjælland, an amusement park with a miniature village and water park. Other attractions include Odsherred Zoo, Fantasy World and BonBon-Land - a huge amusement park containing attractions for all the family. In addition, Copenhagen's many sights and attractions - including the world famous Tivoli amusement park - are just an hour's drive away.
