A perfect getaway for everyone who enjoys nature or need a break from their busy everyday life. Surrounded by coffee and banana plantations and a bambu forest, the farm is always full of life and birdsong. A place where you can sit down and relax, just enjoy life and the spectacular view that this farm has to offer. Have a coffee on our deck, with the best view of the mountains and valleys.
El Colibri farm is every nature lovers dream. With a stunning view of the surrounding landscape, mountains and forests this farm is amazing and beautiful. Full of all different types of birds and wildlife. Wether you enjoy birdwatching, picking your own fruits direct from the trees or relaxing in a hammock with a hot cup of coffee, this is the place. Walkers, hikers, adventurers, there is something for everyone. We try to grow our own food, as much as we can, planting new fruits and vegetables every now and then. Maybe you would like to try gardening, harvesting vegetables and fruits. Planting a seed, something you never done before. I would personally love it if anyone wanted to join me in my garden. Maybe you can teach me something new. We both are fluent in English and Swedish and Felipe is also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. Communication should not be a problem.
El Colibri has three separate bedrooms and two bathrooms and breakfast is included. One of the rooms and bathrooms are for me and Felipe, the rest are for our guests. One room has a single bed and the other room a double bed, outside the single bed room is the bathroom, that is only for our guests. The bathroom has a shower with hot water and we offer towels and shower products if needed. The common areas that will be shared with us are a fully equipped kitchen that you are welcome to use at anytime, dining room, sofa, hammock, deck with a view and outdoor fire pit.
El colibri is 3 km from the nearest town Quimbaya, where you can find everything that you need, grocery shopping, souvenirs, restaurants. It is also close to the popular touristic town Filandia, our favorite town around. Beautiful houses, great restaurants and lots of stores to explore for shopping. It takes about 20 min by car to get there from the farm, public transport is also available. Other popular places close by are Parque del Cafe, Panaca animal farm, Salento, Valle del Cocora and Botanical garden.
Our farm is a private property, not a hotel or a resort. It is away from the main road and very quiet, away from cars and traffic. It is accessible with public transport, in this area, to get to the farm, the public transport is Willys Jeeps. An experience in itself to go on one of those, sit on the seats or why not stand at the back of the car, holding on to the metal bars on the roof. Crazy or exciting? You decide. Another option is to contact us, we can pick you up with our car from the airport or any other place. If you have your own car, we have a parking area available and the road to get here are good for almost any type of car.
The places our quests are welcome to use as much as they want are the deck with a view of the landscape and mountains, the best viewpoint at the farm. The common room/dining room is located at the corner of the house, also with a great view. Great area to just hangout, have a drink and socialize. El Colibri has a ravine where we grow coffee and bananas with a small stream at the bottom, great for adventurous guests to explore. Our neighborhood is called La Cima and the road continues past our house , up and around in a circle down to the other side of our house, a nice area for a walk. You can also take a short walk down to the main road, have a drink at the cafe or bar and on the way down there, see how the local coffee farmers live.
We love to interact with our guest and we like to take time to sit down , have a coffee or tea and get to know each other. Of course, if the guests would like privacy, we will give them that.
It is a very quiet neighbourhood. The neighbours are very friendly and never make any disturbing noise. None of their houses are close to ours, so everyone gets privacy.
El Colibri has a very good location, it is in the countryside, but not in the middle of nowhere. Traffic on the road outside our house is minimum. The farm is close to all the popular tourist places in this area: Parque del Cafe, Filandia, Salento, Valle del Cocora, Panaca Farm, Botanical Garden. We have also gone twice by car with guests to Termales de Santa Rosa over the day, it took about 1.5 hours by car. They all loved it and they absolutely recommend going there! We are happy to provide private transportation with our car, anywhere you would like. Show you around the towns and parks, the best cafes and restaurants. Where to get the best prices when shopping. Anything you wonder about, please ask! We are happy to help and want our guests to have the best time possible while staying at Finca El Colibri.
We have Wi-fi available for our guests and outlets in all rooms and shared areas in the house incase anyone need to charge their electronic devices.
We have three friendly pets living at the farm, two dogs and a cat. One of the dogs and the cat can be a bit shy, but they soften up pretty quickly and all three loves cuddles. All pets understand english and spanish.
