Vera Al-andalus is a brand new apartment set in the Al Andalus Thalassa complex, located midway between the historical market town of Vera and the beautiful and unspoilt blue flag beaches of Vera Playa.
The apartment is situated on the top floor of a charming Andalucian-style two-storey house. It has been tastefully decorated with rural-style furnishings.
It consists of two double bedrooms: one with a double bed, the other with two single beds. There are two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite. The kitchen is fully-fitted and well-equipped. The spacious living/dining room (equipped with Tv and Cd player) leads onto an attractive terrace which overlooks the gardens. [view apartment floor plan].

Al Andalus Thalassa is a luxurious residential complex with controlled access. The sea, the swimming pools and the Spa waters play a leading role in this urbanisation. Hence the name Thalassa, which is Greek for 'sea'. The houses, in a distinctive Andalusian style, enjoy views of the Mediterranean sea, and are laid out around extensive leafy gardens, adorned with pretty arches and fountains and pleasant shaded areas. There are two outdoor swimming pools for adults and children. There are tennis and paddle ball courts, a boules area and a playing area for young children.

Vera
Vera is a charming walled, renaissance town with many attractive buildings, several of which can be found in its main square, the Plaza Mayor. Vera is a prosperous town with a great variety of shops, many selling locally made handicrafts, and on Saturdays there is an street market that seems to take over the town. An equally strong attraction is the local cuisine, found both in classy restaurants and tapas bars.
The surrounding area
The Almeria coast boasts many blue-flag beaches, including the nearby Vera Playa and Mojácar Playa.
The Vera Aqua Park is a short drive away and provides a fun family day out. Several golf courses are within easy reach: Cortijo Grande (9-hole), Club Marina Golf, Desert Springs and Valle Del Este (all 18-hole).
Garrucha is a beautiful and lively fishing town that still retains much of its original charm. It has a great selection of restaurants and bars with many excellent seafood restaurants to be found along the seafront serving the fresh catch of the day. The town is particularly famous for the quality of its large red prawns, only fished in the local waters. One of the pleasures of Garrucha is taking a lovely evening stroll around the bay – for almost two kilometres there are landscaped areas to sit and relax while watching the sunset over the Mediterranean sea.
Mojácar town is a picturesque sight of whitewashed buildings and steep and winding, cobbled streets. Perched high on a hill in the Sierra Cabrera it overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. It was a centre of trade for the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans but the Moorish influence dating from the 8th Century, is most visible. The place is a melting pot of cultures, indeed, it is said to have proportionately one of the most international blend of people in Spain. It is also a haven to people with an interest in the arts, many writers, painters and photographers have made Mojacar their home.
A visit to the nearby Cabo de Gata Natural Park is a must. It is Andalucia's largest coastal nature park. The park covers some 38,000 hectares of land and another 12,000 hectares under water. It is an area of unspoilt beauty with unique scenery, volcanic craters, rocky headlands and sandy coves. Apart from walking and enjoying the scenery there is much for the visitor to do including cycling and climbing. The crystal clear waters form an ideal setting for underwater photographic safaris and all forms of fishing.
Cuevas del Almanzora is one of the oldest towns of the province. In the early 19th century silver was discovered in the nearby mountains. The news spread like wild fire and Cuevas del Almanzora became home to many a fortune hunter. The town got its name from the many artificial caves in the nearby hills once inhabited by the miners. The impressive legacy of this silver rush can be seen all around from the elegant family houses of the mining barons to the grand avenues, churches and statues. A visit to the cave dwellings is highly recommended.
As the only true desert in Europe, Tabernas became a popular destination for film producers and their film sets in the 1960s, especially westerns. More than 100 films have been at least partially shot here, including 'a Fistful of Dollars', 'the Magnificent Seven', 'the Good, The Bad & The Ugly' and 'Lawrence of Arabia'. The climate here is extreme and rain is scarce. In the summer months it reaches temperatures of 45º C, whilst some winter nights register 0º C. For anyone with an interest in cinema history the film theme parks Mini Hollywood and Texas Hollywood offer film sets and daily live shows.
