In the historic center of Trapani, the house overlooks the port of Trapani and near the most important churches and museums, the Cathedral of San Lorenzo.
Dating back to the fourteenth century and built as a parish in 1421, it took on its current appearance in 1748 with the construction of some additional elements such as the side chapels, the choir, the bell tower. The interior with three naves houses, among others, a Crucifixion attributed to the Flemish painter Van Dyck and a dead Christ in local stone called incarnate. Also inside, of considerable value, are the neoclassical stuccos and the fresco paintings on the vault. The church was elected to Cathedral in 1844 with a bull of Gregory Xvi ousting the Church of S. Agostino.
