This beautiful house from the mexican 70s was fully restored to emulate it's time period, in the breathtaking neighborhood of Chapalita. The Neighborhood:
CASA IXAYA is in the neighborhood CHAPALITA. The urbanist Juan Palomar y Arias considered that Chapalita one of the best places to live during the 20th century and determined to a great extent the social geography of the City, with the migration of the people of greater economic resources of the Center towards Chapalita.

The outline of the colony was inspired by the garden cities of English urbanism, which consists of subdivisions surrounded by green areas, which made Chapalita a place with a unique personality, with order, planning and well-being.

The promoter and developer of the neighborhood was Mr. José Aguilar Figueroa, while the urbanization is due to José Amezcua. Chapalita was an important part of the boom of residential neighborhoods with green areas, community order and self-sustainability.

Chapalita is a benchmark in urban development throughout the country. Something that characterizes this neighborhood is the independent administration of public services, which had to happen in the absence of provision of the aforementioned being far from the center of Zapopan.

In 1954 the Association of Neighbors of Chapalita was constituted, to be able to manage the garbage collection, public cleaning, maintenance and gardening of its parks and roundabouts, as well as the good functioning of the public lighting, among others services.

With the passing of time, the residential neighborhood became a business area with restaurants, bars and coffee shops, as well as a place with a high rate of vehicle traffic, being very near important avenues such as Av. Lázaro Cárdenas, Av. Guadalupe, Av. López Mateos and Av. Las Rosas.

One of the main attraction points in Chapalita is its gazebo, where every Sunday it transforms into a place of great shows of art, cultural events and family coexistence.

CHAPALITA ROUNDABOUT
This roundabout is one of the main emblems of the neighborhood, the area is surrounded by trees and benches where you can sit and enjoy the afternoon. A fact that has given its identity are Sundays, when it becomes an urban gallery -known as Garden of Art- in which various artists come together to exhibit their work.

At first it was known as Guadalupe Park, and there were games for children, skating rinks, metal hoops and sand boxes, among other things. It is thought of as a town square, and it is a place known by all locals in Guadalajara. Nowadays it is also known by its gourmet offerings of great gastronomic value.

EXPO GUADALAJARA
CASA IXAYA is also very near Expo Guadalajara. This exhibition center receives the most relevant exhibitions in Latin America. It is home to 50% of the largest and most important exhibitions in Mexico and receives 2.5 million visitors a year from all over the world. With an optimal space of more than 90,000 m2 distributed in its exhibition areas and functional lobbies to receive up to 60,000 people per day. It has 15 ample accesses, 1,912 parking spaces and a large maneuvering yard to receive up to 65 trucks simultaneously, Expo Guadalajara is the ideal space for any type of exhibition, and you can visit there year round iconic exhibitions like FIL (International book fair), Expo muebles (furniture exhibition), Expo plásticos (you got it, plastic exhibition), Talent land (a huge tech event), and hundreds of other events, which you can see on the calendar of their website.

CASA IXAYA is also a short walk away from the renowned bridge Matute Remus, and a short drive away from Glorieta Minerva, a business and culture hub around the most iconic roundabout in the city.
Getting Around:
The house has 6 parking places inside the garage. The neighborhood has a lot of room for parking on the street, although we recommend to park on the public parking place that is just across Av. López Mateos. There is a mibici station 2 blocks away, which is a government backed initiative, where renting a bike for a whole day costs $88 pesos, for 3 days $178 pesos, for 7 days $310 pesos and for a full year $404 pesos. There are multiple stations throughout the city, so you drive from one to the other and you can switch bikes on each of them, being a very practical, affordable and fun solution to transport and tourism. It is worth mentioning that the neighborhood is very peaceful, safe, and great for walking.

The house is half a block away from Av. López Mateos, and very near Av. Lázaro Cárdenas where there are public transport buses worth $7 pesos going around all day, but we recommend to use them with locals, since the system is complicated to use. You can use Moovit to look at the route, but keep in mind the public transport buses are rarely on time, and they are very full. Uber and Didi are always a viable option for effective transport.

CASA IXAYA is a 30-minute drive away from Guadalajara's international Airport, 20-minutes away from the new Guadalajara bus station, and 20-minutes away from the Zapopan bus station (the most ideal to travel to and from Tequila and Puerto Vallarta).
Other Things to Note:
The kitchen has a small fridge and a double sink. The dining room has tableware for 16 people. There is drinking water from a filter on the second floor for guests to replenish the cristal mugs they will find in each of their rooms. Since we just offer the best, we would like to tell you that we use handmade and biodegradable shampoo, body wash and hands soap
