In the shades of the old and famous Havana University, you will find our private room, with independent entrance, to spend your days in Cuba’s capital.The warmth, modesty and empathy of the hosts make of Casa Carmen a substitute home. Taking into account its priviledged location, the place become ideal for spend your time in our city.
The Space:
In our small and modest apartment, we rent a private room (4x3) with independent bathroom and entrance for a total privacy for the guests. The air/conditioned bedroom has capacity up 2 people with its double bed. The bathroom, within the room, has cold/hot water. Away from the street noises, the room is perfect to have a tranquil rest.
Our balcony over the street make an additional plus. Here you can sit to observe the neighborhood life, the University Alma mater, the architecture of the nearby church or have a nice chat.
Guest Access:
All basic services are included: bed sheets, towels, toilet paper and soap. We also give our guests information needed for their trip and help them to book houses in other provinces. In addition we also offer services such as breakfast, dinner, airport pickups and drop offs, and city tours with expert guides.
Our guests have access to all common spaces of the house, such as the balcony, dining room and living room.
Interaction with Guests:
Carmen, a retired dental technician, and his husband Norberto, a skilled carpenter, will take care of you always with a big smile. Carmen is a very motherly woman and the solo travelers, especially the young ones, use to cling to her. They will await your arrival with a fresh squeezed fruits juice or a will make you coffee while you are doing the check-in.
If you have any question about the city, other provinces or like to have recommendations about diverse activities and places, Carmen will be there always for you.
The Neighborhood:
We are located on the border of Havana Center and Plaza, in Neptunost, one of the oldest arteries connecting Old Havana with Vedado. Barely 200 m away from Havana University, is our street filled by the students early in the mornings and late at nights. The neighborhood is very lively, yet quiet and safe. In the nearby of several hotels as Habana Libre (formerly Havana Hilton) and the famous National Hotel, you will find numerous Wi/Fi zones in your way to the Malecon. Often, Neptuno Street is used as a touristic route since it come out onto Old Havana, where locate all the main historical sights, places to dance, bars and restaurants.
Getting Around:
To get to our home from the airport you can get a taxi or request an airport pick up from us. From our place, you will not be using any taxis as almost all locations of interest are within walking distance. To go to cities such as Viñales or Trinidad we can help with private or shared taxis, based on your preferences.
Our home is located near important avenues such as 23rd, Infanta and San Lazaro, from where you can easily get access to public buses and collective taxis to several places of the city. If you want to pay a visit to Old Havana and like to exercise you, you will only have to take a 30 minutes-walk down Neptuno. In addition, if you get tired, you will only need to take a collective taxi passing by Neptuno until our door.
Other Things to Note:
We are co-hosts of other properties in several cities of Cuba. Therefore, if you plan to travel around the Island we can advise you on your travel plan and help you find accommodation, with first hand prices.
We speak Spanish and Basic English.

Stringent: No charges will be levied if booking is canceled 61 days prior to check-in. If cancellation is done between 30 to 60 days prior to check-in, 50% of the total booking amount will be charged. Post that, there will be no refund.
