Location Specific - Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar

Mahabaleshwar is a very popular hill station derived its name from the temple located here of Lord Shiva (or Lord Mahabali). It is a famous short weekend getaway, honeymoon and pilgrimage destination. Mahabaleshwar enjoys fairly pleasant weather throughout the year. Panchgani used to be a popular summer retreat for the British. It is located in the Satara district of Maharashtra about 250 kms from Mumbai and 98 kms from Pune. Panchgani is surrounded by five hills by a volcanic plateau, the second highest in Asia.
